You do not need to explain the microbiome first.

The advantage is not the experience. It is what the experience lets me see.

Christian Roghi in conversation, listening and thinking

I am a scientist by training, but I have never been comfortable staying inside the lines science draws for itself.

I am most interested when the usual way of looking at a problem stops being enough. I like the moments when something familiar suddenly looks different, when an assumption stops holding, or when a new connection changes what you thought the problem was.

The microbiome resonates with me because it refuses to fit neatly into the old frame. It asks us to reimagine health and rethink disease by looking beyond human biology alone.

That is where I am at my best: questioning the frame, finding what others may be missing, and helping important science travel further into the world.
